Beading Night

Every month, the ladies in my neighborhood get together to play. The toy of choice is beads! I learned how to make little girl bracelets when I was pregnant with Sydney...I made the girls matching ones so that Savi could give Syd one when she was born, and they could have "sister bracelets". Since then, I've accumulated the tools of the trade and it's become one of my favorite hobbies. With a toddler around it seems I don't get as much time in with beading as I would like, so it's nice to have one evening set aside here and there. There are quite a few mediums you can work with so I'm always learning from my beading girls new techniques and shamelessly stealing all their great ideas! Plus, it's just fun to catch up with each other and get peoples' opinions on what your project of the month is.
This month, I hosted. We meet from 9pm til whenever...usually about midnight. Savi was excited that I was having a party after they would be in bed, and wanted to leave a welcome sign for them. Isn't she adorable?

Here are the projects I completed last night! Selfishly, they are both for me. That is not usually the case though, I use a lot of my creations for gifts! I also made a pair of earrings to match a necklace I made last time, and repaired a necklace I broke a few weeks ago. All in all, a productive night! We had a new beading Mom :) join us last night who makes flower hair clips for her girls. She sews 5-6 little beads in the center of each silk flower before attaching it to a clippie. They are ADORABLE! I see another shameless steal in my near future.

  1. Love it. What a great way to display your projects as you complete them. I love the green one with the danglies (brain is fried from staying up to late lastnight beading), or whatever they are called. I should know the term, hello. Guess I can't stay up beading as late as I used to. Cute though!!!

  3. Such talent. I need to come again for the "catch up with each other" part. Sounds like a blast. Love the flower clip idea. Now that seems like something even I could do. Glad you had fun!! Cut stuff btw.

  4. My daughter is insistent that I get the recipe for your pumpkin bars. Kenz thinks you need to start a cooking club!

  5. I wanna come to beading night!!! That is one thing that I have barely dabbled in but I *LOVE* when I see what other people create! I need to learn :) Perhaps you and K need to come visit Sara so I can tag along for a girls' weekend ... just sayin'!

  7. Liz- I think I need to adopt Kenzie. She LOVES everything I put in front of her. If only a certain boy in my house could pick up that trait, my life would be SO much easier. I'll post the recipe soon for you!
