Snow flies early

...this year. Usually we don't see it at our house until after Halloween. What does SnOw mean at our house? The kids know all too well, and won't let Mom and Dad forget it...
Hot chocolate and marshmallows.....
Building a measly little snowman. Cute though, with Peanut M&M eyes and buttons and a baby carrot nose. Too bad I didn't get a pic of the finished product.
Eating fresh fallen snow....nature's own sno-cone!!
Making Caramel Apples!!! We haven't ever done this before, but it might be a new tradition at our house. The kids had a great time and nobody got burned. Always a plus!
Bet you wish you were here this weekend!

  1. Wow! Snow before Halloween is crazy. We're still 78 degrees here, but it's getting pretty cool in the evenings.

I'm still amazed every time I see a new picture of Syd that she seems to be such a perfect mix of her brother and sister. Miss you all tons!

  3. What a fun weekend! Yes, we wish we could play with you!!! We got cold weather here, too. LOW 50s during the day and 29 at night! We get LOTS of wind and boy did it blow all night Friday (pushing deck funiture all over the place)and all day Saturday. BRRR! Heater's on for a few days until the cold front moves through. Since playing outside wasn't an option, we went to see Beverly Hills Chihuahua -- very cute show and even the parents laughed! And then we went to the Sundogs hockey game, compliments of Mark's work because he had to stitch people up and check their injuries. VERY FUN! Wish you were here, too, so we could share with you....

  4. I LOVE Caramel Apples. They're usually such a pain to make, though. I found this great product at the grocery store here for making them. It's circles of caramel that you just wrap around the apple. Then you put a stick in them, stick them in the oven at 200 F for 5 minutes to soften up the caramel, let them cool and... voila! Delicious caramel apples. It's so easy. Even the kids could do it. And no danger of getting burned and no messy pans afterward. It even comes with the sticks and wax paper.
