Food Love

The only thing better than this Aloha Chicken Salad from Rumbi? Eating it with a friend that I don't see often enough! ...while our boys and girls, respectively, are getting to know each other. We need to do it more often.

You can't give water from an empty well ladies, you have to take care of you too. Sometimes friends are the best therapy of all. And food.

  1. Oh, Bride Wars was funny! We saw that for girls' night out about a week ago. We had 10 people, which is the largest group we've had yet. We love how empty the theater is on week nights.

Were you catching up with LL over salad? ;)

We've been hunkered down waiting out this ice storm for 24 hours now. I have a feeling tomorrow will be the third day we're all working from home...if we have power! The local TV station is about one mile from my house and they've been without power all afternoon.

  2. We too enjoy and empty theater so we can be as obnoxious as possible and not worry about ticking others off! We're feeling the need for a good laugh tonight, so Seven Pounds will have to wait.

I was catching up with my friend Suzie over lunch. I think you've met her in the WAY distant past....maybe. Her son is about a year younger than Gunnar and her little girl is 7 months younger than Syd. She's awesome!

So, you're going to be able to make it to the airport on Friday right? All that ice doesn't look like it's going anywhere soon...

  5. Our enrichment committee schedules a monthly "lunch bunch". It's a fun opportunity to try a restaurant you don't frequent. Maybe you should suggest that to your locals? That way you have a built-in lunch date. :) This month was at Smoky Mtn Pizza and Pasta. I didn't make it, I usually go every 3rd month ...and anytime it's at Olive Garden! :)

  6. We have had groups of VT sisters meet up once a month for lunch, but it's usually ending up to be a small group and there's lots of venting -- relaxing? Not for me! I guess I need to invite a friend or two and schedule for myself -- now that's therapy! :-) Good suggestion -- I'm glad you gave me the motivation to start something on my own!
